Profile
Jim Holliday was born in Orlando and grew up in nearby Longwood where he graduated from Lake Brantley High School. Wanting to serve his country and pay his own way through college, Jim competed with candidates across the State for an ROTC scholarship. The U.S. Army awarded Jim a full academic scholarship to attend Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. During college, Jim was honored by being chosen to lead others in various capacities: Chairman of Stetson’s Orientation Program, Chairman for United Way Fundraiser, ROTC Company Commander, served on Stetson’s mock trial team and was the social chairman of his fraternity. He received his Bachelors of Business Administration from Stetson University in 1990 and was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army. Jim went on to serve in the Transportation Corps where he was described by his superior officers as “an intelligent, motivated and energetic officer.”
