In 1971, John Huggard graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with an undergraduate degree in economics (Phi Beta Kappa). In 1975, he graduated from the law school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was published in N.C. Law Review. After graduation, John began a private law practice. In 1988, he received a master’s degree from Duke University. John is currently the senior member in the Raleigh, North Carolina law firm of Huggard, Obiol & Blake, PLLC.
From 1975 to the present, John’s practice has been centered on estate planning, taxation and securities litigation and appeals. He is a Board Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate law and also a NCDRC Certified Superior Court Mediator. John is a member of all trial and appellate courts in North Carolina. In addition, he is a member of the federal trial court serving Raleigh, North Carolina (Eastern District) and all federal appellate courts up to and including the U.S. Supreme Court.
