James Walker has his roots firmly planted in the Midwest. He was raised in Hannibal, Missouri, and has lived in Kansas City, Missouri since 1971. He completed his undergraduate studies at Cornell College, and earned a law degree at University Missouri-Kansas City in 1981.
He has been practicing civil law since 1985. James has served as lead counsel in 23 civil jury trials, receiving plaintiff’s verdicts in 17 of them.* He was awarded a BEST ATTORNEY designation from an attorney rating agency in 2015 limited to 1% of attorneys in each state, as well as an American Jurisprudence Award in Criminal Procedure while in law school. He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocate Forum, limited to attorneys with settlements/jury verdicts of a million dollars or more.
He has been a lifetime athlete and has completed two Boston marathons, and enjoys bicycling, weight lifting, traveling to the country with his wife and their dogs.
