Marc L. Schatten

Mr. Schatten knew at an early age that he wanted to be in the arena and be a trial lawyer. His father was a leading trial lawyer and federal prosecutor in the New York City, U.S. Attorney’s Office. During college, Mr. Schatten excelled in oral advocacy winning top debate awards and championships. At the University of Rochester, Mr. Schatten graduated near the top of his class, Phi Beta Kappa. He was awarded the Floyd Griswold Memorial Prize in Economics. Mr. Schatten then went on one of the nation’s top law schools, Vanderbilt University School of Law, in Nashville, Tennessee.
After graduating law school, Mr. Schatten worked at top law firms honing his skills as a litigator. Due to his work in and out of the Courtroom, Mr. Schatten earned top legal awards and honors including being named in the top 1% of litigators. Mr. Schatten was selected to the Doyle Inn of Court where he had many great opportunities to learn from a mentor and leader of his small pupilage group U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Neil Gorsuch before his appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Schatten has worked on personal injury cases with some of Colorado great trial lawyers including the legendary Walter Gerash.
Mr. Schatten is also very active in the Colorado community. He founded a fundraising group for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver that raised tens of thousands of dollars and put on the first 5K Dash for the Kids in Denver. Mr. Schatten also served as a fundraising chair of his Vanderbilt University Law School class. Mr. Schatten is active with the Colorado Trial Lawyer Association. In his free time, Mr. Schatten enjoys hiking, skiing, tennis, traveling and being with friends and family.
