Matthew C. Kotzen

Matthew C. Kotzen is the founding partner of The Rain Law Firm. He is a nationally renowned expert on insurance coverage and has spoken across the country on topics including The National Flood Insurance Program and insurance coverage disputes. He manages the firm’s litigation practices including both insurance property claim disputes and personal injury claims. Prior to founding The Rain Law Firm, Mr. Kotzen was the department head of a state-wide insurance defense firm where he represented insurance carriers in the defense of business and property insurance claims. During his tenure, Mr. Kotzen represented many of the insurance companies which provide homeowner’s insurance coverage throughout the state of Florida. He has served as a board member of the Hollywood Democratic Club, President of The North Dade Regional Chamber of Commerce and President of The Aventura Chamber of Commerce. As a result of his work with the City of Aventura, Matthew was awarded a Key to the City by then Mayor, Jeffrey Perlow. In addition, Matthew is an ardent fundraiser for charitable organizations across Miami-Dade and Broward County including “Grapes For Grades” which benefits the Hollywood Florida Scholarship Foundation by providing tuition grants to future college graduates.
