Robert H. Tourtelot is a graduate of the University of Santa Clara and a cum laude graduate of Hastings College of Law where he served as Issue Editor majoring in Business, of the Hastings Law Journal, was a member of the prestigious Order of the Coif an scholastic society and of the Thurston Honor Society.
He began his career in entertainment law at the Los Angeles firm of O’Melveny & Myers, where he worked with major newspapers, radio stations, motion picture studios and producers, cable television operators and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
In 1971, he segued into litigation, opening his own practice on the Westside of Los Angeles, representing plaintiffs in personal injury, real estate and contract litigation. His real estate clients have included individual landowners, land developers, nation-wide affordable housing developers, and geothermal energy producers and lease holders. His business and financial sector clientele included a lumber company, a national travel agency, a farm implement dealer, a home building center, a stock brokerage, an escrow company and a bank. At one time he represented the Los Angeles Dodgers.
